Union of International Mountain Leader Associations

Hiking guides worldwide

What the IVBV is for mountain guides, the "Union of International Mountain Leader Associations", or UIMLA for short, is for hiking guides: a worldwide union of hiking guide associations. Since 2004, the aim of this organisation has been to represent the interests and protect the profession of hiking leaders. Above all, this means harmonising training in the various countries and implementing uniform international standards for the profession and training.  

This creates the basis for cross-border recognition of hiking guide training. And this in turn opens up the area of application for hiking guides. It will then cover the whole world.
